Ants are one of the most common pests in Toowong, especially after rain when nests flood and colonies move indoors looking for food and dry shelter. Coastal brown ants push up soil between pavers, black house ants march along benches, and some kinds nest inside wall cavities or under the floor where you cannot see them.
Spraying the trail you can see usually just moves the ants somewhere else. It can take a week or two for a large colony to die out, so a few ants may keep appearing at first. That is a sign the bait is being carried home, so try not to spray them.
